Women In Cycling was launched almost four years ago, and we now have a thriving network of more than 3000 women. The initiative is further expanding to national level with WIC initiatives in place in Germany, France, Switzerland and Italy, in addition to Women In Cycling CIE and Women In Cycling Mountain biking!
At the same time, Europe is taking steps with new rules in place to improve gender balance in corporate boards and A Roadmap for Women’s Rights listed as one of Ursula von den Leyen’s priorities for the first 100 days of the new European administration.
Women In Cycling CIE was launched earlier in the autumn to address diversity in the cycling industry and member companies. WIC CIE focuses on structural change but also supports women working in the industry at individual level. One of the first actions of the group is to set diversity KPIs for the industry and to get data to have reliable information on how many women work for the cycling industry, at which levels etc which we will need as a baseline data for our advocacy work.
CIE Women in Cycling meets regularly every first Monday of the month at 2 PM CET. All CIE Members are warmly welcome to join us! Please contact us if you would be interested in joining us.
