ECI is opening a new internship position to help drive membership sales and improve membership experience.

About ECI:

European Cycling Industries is the united voice of the European cycling sector, representing national industry associations across Europe and companies covering all stages of the cycling value chain in manufacturing and services. We engage with European policymakers to secure policies and regulations that support the growth of cycling and help the cycling ecosystem anticipate key developments.

Role Overview

As a Membership Sales Intern, you will support ECI in growing and strengthening its membership base. You will work closely with our Membership and Leadership team to engage prospective members, assist with outreach activities, and help improve the membership experience. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in membership development, stakeholder engagement and association management in an international trade association context.

Key Responsibilities

Membership Outreach & Engagement

  • Support research and identification of potential member companies and organisations within the cycling ecosystem.
  • Assist with outreach campaigns (email, LinkedIn, calls) to introduce ECI membership and benefits.
  • Help schedule and organise introductory meetings and follow-ups with prospects.

Sales Support & Administration

  • Maintain accurate membership prospect records and CRM data.
  • Support the preparation of membership proposals, presentations and follow-up materials.
  • Track progress of ongoing membership discussions and support pipeline reporting.

Member Experience & Retention

  • Assist with onboarding of new members and preparation of welcome packs.
  • Participate in member communication to help ensure positive engagement and satisfaction.

Events & Networking Support

  • Assist with membership-related activities at ECI events (e.g. Cycling Industry Summit or expert group meetings).
  • Support logistics for membership outreach initiatives at industry events.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Strong interest in cycling, sustainable mobility, trade associations or international affairs.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written & verbal).
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable engaging with external stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of sales, marketing or membership engagement is a plus.

Desirable

  • Experience with CRM tools or contact databases.
  • Interest in EU policy, trade associations, or the bicycle industry.
  • Multilingual capabilities (French, Dutch, Spanish, German) advantageous.

About the offer

  • Contract: Full time internship contract under the Convention d’Immersion Professionnelle (CIP) framework for 6 months
  • Location: On-site in Brussels, Belgium
  • Hours: Full-time, 38 hours per week
