C2Bike
C2Bike is a project aimed at establishing a ‘common charging standard’ for e-bikes. It has been developed by CHAdeMO Association, an international organisation with approximately 500 member companies from over 40 countries. Headquartered in Japan, the association’s mission is to provide safe, affordable, and interoperable charging for various types of EVs and LEVs. Some of CHAdeMO’s protocols have already been standardised as IEC/EN/IEEE standards, and are widely used around the world.
The C2Bike charger is designed to supply a maximum voltage of 60V and a maximum current of 20A, and can be used with batteries ranging from 24V to 60V (7s to 14s). Due to its ‘connection adapter’, it is also compatible with batteries already on the market.
While membership is required for the development of the standard and products, chargers and batteries compliant with the C2Bike standard may be freely used by any company or consumer.
