Providing a statement of your company financial information is a statement of honour that your company wishes to participate in the work of CIE and pays a fair membership rate compared to other companies in the association. Therefore, CIE trusts that the declaration is a fair representation of your company accounts or budgets, whether publicly available or not.

How are yearly membership fees calculated?

CIE fees are required to be proportionate to the European activity of the member. The membership fee is calculated as 0.05% of the annual European Cycling related turnover When stating European turnover please use the broadest definition of Europe that applies to your business, including EU, UK, EFTA and neighbouring countries regardless of their trading status with the EU or other trading blocs. of the member company. If your company does not wish to provide the required information the CIE membership fee defaults to the maximum Platinum Membership Fee each year.

The following exceptions apply:

  • The yearly minimum fee is €1000, the maximum €100,000 (2024)
  • A special rate of €500 per year for two years applies to start-ups.
  • Minimum membership fees apply to larger corporations, such as new market entrants where their cycling business or European subsidiaries are part of a larger whole. Because these companies have large financial resources, we ask them to pay a fair minimum membership fee that reflects their potential benefit from the work of CIE to grow cycling in Europe and establish a favourable business environment for investment.
    • The minimum is €10,000 for companies with over €500 million global turnover.
    • €25,000 for companies with over €1 billion global turnover. (2024 rate).

  2. Once your membership is finished, we will ask you to complete the following supporting documents. This is done in compliance with Belgian and international regulations concerning transparency, competition, lobbying, and money laundering. CIE is required to prove the ultimate beneficial ownership of member companies and the authorization of officials representing member companies.
